WPJA Photo Contest Results Announced

Happy 4th of July! The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) announced the results for its Q1 2009 photo contest today. Photographers submitted entries from many countries, including the USA, Australia, Hong Kong, France, England, Slovenia, Canada, Italy, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Greece, Belgium, Trinidad & Tobago, Thailand and Singapore. The judges were photojournalists Walter Astrada, Tiffany Brown, Melissa Lyttle and Damon Winter.

This quarter’s contest was limited to black and white photos. See all of the results at this link (click the Next button to proceed through all of the photos and categories).

I’m very pleased that two of my entries were in the top ten of their respective categories. This photo is from Miriam and Jonathan’s wedding and earned 8th place in the Reception category:

And this photo is from Kate and Mark’s wedding and earned 10th place in the Details (Found) category:
