I love posed portraits, casual portraits, environmental portraits, talking-to-the-camera portraits and walking-on-the-street portraits. One of the wonderful things about photography is how accurately it can portray a person at a specific time. And yet, every portrait is a collaboration, an expression, an insight, an opinion and a point of view.

Ideal Ages for Baby & Child Portraits:

Newborn, up to 6-weeks old: tiny and delicate and changing quickly.
6 to 8 months: can sit up unassisted; alert and engaging.
10 to 14 months: can walk or stand holding on to furniture but not yet run; excited and mobile.
About once each year after the first year.
